Who’s Chawla? Navjot Singh Denies Meeting with Chawla

Navjot Singh Sidhu, Punjab Cabinet Minister, went to Kartarpur and has photo shoots. Gopal Singh Chawla, General Secretary of Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, also clicked a picture with Sidhu and posted it on a social networking website. Chawla is considered as having relationships with Hafiz Saeed. He is also known as a pro-Khalistani separatist.

Navjot Singh Sidhu said that many people have clicked pictures with him and he does not know Chawla. He also told about the seating arrangement which was pre-planned. He added that people there love him very much and wanted to have a photograph with him. He then asked the reason of controversy being raised. He also said that the Kargil war occurred after Atal Bihari Vajpayee went to Pakistan and Pathankot Air Force base faced a terrorist attack after Narendra Modi went to Pakistan to meet Nawaz Sharif. Sidhu said that Kartarpur controversy has occurred after he returned back from Pakistan.

Sidhu has also informed that the around 104 acres of land have been allocated for construction of hotels and other buildings. The corridor will start working on the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev in 2019. Sidhu also said that in future, the relationship between India and Pakistan would become better. He further said that Amritsar and Ferozepur borders may get opened in future for the development of Punjab in both the countries.

Sidhu also told that he brought soil and chadar from the gurudwara along with wheat grown in Kharagpur. He also said that he met with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and gave him a model of Golden Temple.
