UP Government to Install Vajpayee Statues
It seems that the “statue mania” is gripping the BJP led state Governments as well with the installation of the “The Statue of Unity” in Gujarat. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh would be including a wide array of statues of leaders that made a positive impact for the country.
The Special Secretary, Shishir Singh has revealed in an official announcement that the statue collection would include, Swami Vivekanand, esteemed Mahants and head priests of Gorakhpur’s Gorakhnath Temple Avaidyanath and Digvijaynath, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee as well. The timing seems to be precise since the debate of having a Lord Ram statue and the temple is gaining a lot of heat among the BJP sympathisers. as simple as atal pension yojana
As per Singh’s diktat, the statue of the 3-time Prime Minister of India will have a 25-foot statue in the UPs’ Lok Bhawan. Swami Vivekanand’s statue would be present in the Raj Bhawan and the statues of the Mahants would be installed in Gorakhpur. The remaining statues have been finalized at an estimated height of 12.5 feet.
The construction work on all of these statues is already underway and the state Government has requested for the detailed report from every known local and district magistrate. The Police Chiefs and captains have also been put to work and the reports need to be submitted within one week.
The Opposition has already slammed the Yogi Government for diverting themselves with the issues of the people rather than focusing on them. Akhilesh Yadav, the SP chief has criticised the Chief Minister for putting his personal interests on top of the people of the State.
Senior Congress Leader and current Rajya Sabha member Karam Singh has requested the Chief Minister to install a statue of Goddess Sita as well alongside Lord Ram. The estimated height of Lord Ram’s statue would be 221 metres and many of the saints have requested Yogi to include Lady Sita with him.
UP Government has kept mum on the details regarding the budget of all these constructions as that would give the Opposition yet another opportunity to fire their guns on them. It remains to be seen if this will appease the BJP supporters for another landslide victory in the forthcoming General Elections.
