Xiaomi’s third surprise is here. Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain too to Twitter on Wednesday to announce a permanent price drop for the Redmi Y2. After the price cut, the Redmi Y2 is now available for a starting price of Rs 8,999. This price is for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model of the phone. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the Redmi Y2 will now retail for Rs 10,999. Both the variants of the Redmi Y2 with the new price will be available for buying on Amazon India store, Mi.com and all offline partner stores.
To celebrate the company’s success in India for being the top smartphone brand for five consecutive quarters Xiaomi reduced the price 4GB RAM model of the Redmi Y2 in November. Back then, Xiaomi reduced the price of the 4GB+64GB storage model of Redmi Y2 by Rs 1,000 after which the phone was made available for Rs 11,999.
On Monday Xaiomi slashed the price of Mi A2 in India and on Tuesday the India price of the Redmi Note 5 Pro was reduced. After the price drop, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is now available for Rs 12,999 while the Mi A2 India price now starts at Rs 13,999 which is similar to the beginning value of Redmi Note 6 Pro.
To recollect, in India Mi A2 was launched with a price of Rs 16,999 for the 4GB RAM model, while the 6GB RAM variant was made available for Rs 19,999. Now after the recent price drop, the Mi A2 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model starts at 13,999. While the price of the top-end variant of the Mi A2 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is now Rs 15,999. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 5 Pro 4GB RAM/64GB model will now retail for Rs 12,999 in India, while the 6GB RAM/64GB storage model of the phone will sell for Rs 13,999. Notably, this is the second price drop that both Mi A2 and Redmi Note 5 P Pro have received in the last two months. Similar is the case with the Redmi Y2 as well.
