Sachin Tendulkar Expresses His Views about the Upcoming World Cup 2019
Sachin Tendulkar on Friday (22nd February) expressed his views on India playing with Pakistan at the Cricket World Cup 2019. He was in support of India playing Pakistan at the World Cup 2019. There are debates going on as whether India should play Pakistan at the World Cup, after a terrorist attack in Pulwama on Feb 14th left 40 Indian CRPF jawans killed. Pakistan was blamed for the attack.
A week after a terror attack in Pulwama area, the BCCI on Friday wrote a letter to the ICC and asked it to take note of the current situation.The BCCI wished to address the concerns and the general sentiments that have emerged after the recent deadly terrorist attack which was carried out on Indian soil by the terror outfit based in Pakistan which resulted in the unfortunate death of 44 Indian security personnel read the BCCI letter.
The letter from the BCCI approximately stated that in view of the aforesaid terrorist attack, BCCI is concerned for the safety and security of its players and the match officials who are participating in upcoming ICC events including the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Most of the countries which are members of the ICC (including the United Kingdom) have strongly reacted against this terrorist attack and expressed solidarity with India. BCCI is urging the cricketing community to sever ties with those countries which are a save heaven for terrorists.
Speaking on the issue of security at the World Cup 2019, the BCCI said that it wishes to express its growing concerns over the safety and security of the fans of Indian cricket who are going to be present at the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The BCCI is putting its trust on ICC and ECB that they will ensure that the most robust and tight security is provided to players, match officials and fans of Indian cricket for the upcoming World Cup 2019.
That India has always come up victorious against Pakistan in the World Cup Sachin had said in a statement “Time to beat them once again,” he said. Sachin had said that he would personally hate to give them two points and help them in the tournament.Sachin also added will accept whatever decision the nation takes on the issue. Tendulkar endorsed Gavaskar’s sentiments, who earlier said that, it would be India’s loss, if they forfeit the match against Pakistan on 16th June.
