Sindhu Wins BWF World Tour Finals, Pumped For 2019 Olympics

PV Sindhu is by far one of the very best shuttlers in the entire world. She is one of the most well-known names in badminton the world over, and is one of the most well known Indian sportswomen there are. While she did not manage to secure a single title in the entirety of 2018, she again gave an amazing display of her ability and skill when she bagged a gold medal in the recent BWF World Tour Finals. She was ranked as the World No. 3 Shuttler, and gained a lot of fame as she became the first Indian sportswomen to win the prestigious BWF Tournament. To win the tournament, she defeated Japanese Finalist Nozomi Okuhara, a fearsome sportswoman in her own right.

Although she failed to score a single title or rank in the entirety of 2018, she did not lose heart, as she said that she tried to take all of those defeats in a positive way, and to use them as inspiration to move forward. The Hyderabadi shuttler has said to the press that for her, the year 2018 ended on a particularly good note, and she hopes that she is able to retain her hopes, skills and luck in 2019. The reason for this, as she elaborated, is that the Olympics will be held in 2019, and thus she believes that she will be required to give her 100%.

A particularly tough opponent that she faced was Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan, who had defeated her six times before. When asked about what strategy she adopted in order to finally defeat the feared shuttler, she replied that she did not have any particular strategy in mind, and adapted to the environment of the court, and Tai Tzu Ying’s playing style.
